The Disappearance of Flight 19
One of the most famous mysteries of World War 2 is what happened to Flight 19 – although technically, it happened a couple of months after the war ended. Basically, Lieutenant Charles Taylor led a flight of 5 Avenger planes on a training mission out of Fort Lauderdale. He complained over the radio that the compasses were not working and that they were lost. The planes went missing and were never found. It has bee assumed they simply ran out of fuel after flying around for hours, but many feel it was the Bermuda Triangle at work!
